It has almost been a month since the new year is in. One of your new year resolutions was probably to follow a healthier lifestyle. If it wasn’t, it might be a good idea to add that one to the list.
I am not going to lie. I am not a health freak, not by a long shot. But since I am planning on annoying people for as many years as I possibly can, I have turned to a more consious way of life. That includes doing more cardio and fitness excersises, eating more consicously, keeping bad habbits at bay and trying to do more of what makes me happy. Cause happiness is health.
Every little thing you do to improve your lifestyle, is one thing more than you used to do, which is always good. For me, one of those little things is making sure I regulate my daily dieet. So instead of eating bread everyday for breakfast and/or lunch, I variate my meals. So one day I eat bread, the next yoghurt, the next a smoothie, the next my favorite banana pancakes.
I always make my smoothies in my super handy DOMO smoothie blender (you can read my review here in dutch).
Smoothies are really easy to make. You can even cut your fruit before hand and freeze it in little bags. That way you can throw it in the blender every morning if you don’t have a lot of time in the morning.
Smoothie with Strauwberries, Raspberries and Orange juice
I have a lot of favorite smoothie recipes, but this is the easiest and the one I most often go for.
– A handful of strauwberries- A handful of raspberries
– Freshly squeezed orange juice of fresh orange juice from the store
– Optional: half a banana
- You just add the strauwberries and raspberries in the blender.
- Add a little bit of orange juice for taste and to make your smoothie thinner
- Optional: to make your smoothie sweeter and thicker (and more filling) you can add half a banana to the mixture. I often do when I make this for lunch. To really make a meal out of it you can also add a bit of yoghurt as well.
TIP: Obviously you cannot get all fruit all year long. A good way to add variation to your smoothies is byuing frozen fruit in the super market, especially during the winter months. If you have a blender with an ice crusher you won’t have any problem whatsoever. If you don’t, you can just leave the fruit out of the freezer for a while before you make your smoothie.
A plus point of freezing your fruit in is that your smoothie is going to be nice and cold!
I will be posting more smoothie recipes soon, as well as more articles about a fitter life and my personal thoughts and doings!
