XL empties! (September/October/November/December)

empties XL 1

I’ve been so busy the last few months, that I have neglected a couple of my standard posts. One of them is the empties post I normally used to update every month. I have, however, kept everything I emtied and so now today I give you: the empties XL!
To be fair, in the months September and October I haden’t finished a lot, because I had started using new products after the summer. And seeing as I am the only one using most of these products, it takes me a while to finish them.

Let’s start with the hair products!

emties XL 2

On the top of my list is the L’Oreal Nature hair mask. You may have noticed from how many I have used that I love this product. Beside it being extremely nourishing for my dry hair, it is free of parabens and silicones! I have raved about this product before, and it’s still on the top of my list. Haven’t tried it? What exactly are you waiting for?

Next, I finally emptied the Gliss Kur heat protect serum. I have been using this on-off for about two (!) years. It’s nothing special, and I can never tell if heat protect products actually protect. I won’t be buying this again any time soon. I almost never style my hair and if still got two other heat protect products laying around somewhere.

My favorite hair spray also came to an end. I have been using the Tony&Guy hairspray Creative for the last months. I use hairspray only when I style my hair, which like I said is almost never, so hairspray usually lasts a couple of months. That’s why I don’t mind paying I bit more for the hairspray I love. The thing with this one is it doens’t smell bad and toxic like most do. It has a pleasant smell to it, and keeps my hair the way I want it for a long time.
Repurchase? Definately!

I have been going on about Batiste Dry Shampoo like for ever, so I won’t be going on too much about it now.
Let’s say it’s the only dry shampoo that has ever worked for me, and I’ve tried every brand I could lay my hands on.
Repurchase? Aye! I still have 3 bottles in my closet though, so not anytime soon.

The Pantene and Timotei shampoos where nothing really special. The did help the condition of my hair because they are free from parabens, sulfates and silicones, I’ll admit that much. The Timotei conditioner didn’t really condition my hair, or add anything beneficial for that matter. I emptied it because I started using it, but I won’t be repurchasing any of these.

If you know me, you know I LOVE Korres showergels. They are mostly natural, smell a-ma-zing and my skin feels soft everytime I get out of the shower. I used up the Mango showergel and the Bergamot-Pear showergel, Mango beeing my favorite one. I filled up my stock of these when I was in Greece two weeks ago.

I also finally used up The Body Shop Cranberry showergel. It was nice, but it took for ever to finish. Which ofcourse is a good thing value-wise, but annoying if you are done with the smell. This didn’t do anything more that clean my skin. I have no need to repurchase.

I was also using Dove shower milk Shea and Warm Vanilla last month. I love the Dove showergels in the winter because they are nourishing and smell warm, heaven in the winter. I still use a Dove one now, but I won’t be repurchasing after that I think.

I always use The Body Shop body butter for my body after the shower. They are the most amazing body butters, and trust me, I have tried lots and lots of brands. But nothing compares to those. I love that they have many different scents, so if you get bored of one, you can switch to another. The used up the most fruity scents like Peach and Mango first, and ended up with Vanilla Bliss, which is a more warm scent and perfect for the winter months. I have a lot of body butters left, so I won’t be buying more anytime soon.

emties XL 5

After cleansing my face, I always use toner. In the winter I just use pure Rose Water, which calms my skin down and makes it soft. It’s ideal for my skin because it tends to get a bit dry during the winter months. In the summer I use Lush Tea Tree water. My skin tends to get a bit oily, and this helps refresh it a bit.

In a gift bag I once got a sample tube from AHAVA moisturizer. I used it up but didn’t really like it. What I did love is the MONU moisturizer. I have gone through 3 tubes, although I admit that I have been using those since june. The moisturizer is really hydrating, but not sticky in any way. The skin absorbs it really fast, and it feels soft all day long.

To take off my eye make-up, I always use rose water and oil. Until now I was using The Body Shop camomile oil (which strangely contains more almond oil than camomile oil), but I noticed my eyes where getting red by using it. I finished it and decided to just by pure almond oil, which was better for my eyes, let alone cheaper.

I also used up my Origins peeling sample tubes. I absolutely love this product, and I was very stingy with those sample tubes. The fullsize product costs around 45 euro. It’s worth the money but is still a painful ammount, so I haven’t decided if I’m going to buy it.

I also finished up a mild scrub from Couvent des Minimes which I liked alot and might repurchace.

emties XL 6

A couple of random products which I use daily and are not very interesting: Sensodyne toothpaste, Rexona deodorant rollers and Kruidvat nail polish remover.

emties XL 7Last but not least, make-up.
I almost never use up make-up. Come to think of it, I have NEVER used up a lipstick, blush or eyeshadow.
I do use up eye definers and mascara though because I use those every day. I have been using the Bourjois Liner Stylos for years and are the best I have ever used. I also love the Pupa Vamp! mascara, which I repurchased.

The Yves Rocher loose powder is also a favorite of mine, along with the Max Factor concealer, which always ends up in this yucky condition after a few weeks.

I didn’t use up the Lacoste perfume roller entirely, but I had it for so long that it was beginning to smell weird.

That was the XL empties for this month! I hope you enjoyed reading it.
